For Renzo Rosso, the owner of denim brand Diesel,  I conceptualized and designed a 55 room, 4-star boutique hotel on Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida. The main concept of this project was to create a large ‘Villa’ rather then a standard hotel – a technically innovative environment with a provocative, charming atmosphere.

An interesting mixture between natural, reclaimed, innovative and technical materials was spiced up with a smart sense of humor, in line with the Diesel spirit. Due to the unfortunate events of September 11th 2001 and the economical situation as a result of this, the Carlyle Hotel project was put on hold in 2002.
